My Uncle Mike

This is my uncle Mike. He went home to be with Jesus right after Christmas last year. This is the only picture I have of him. I didn't know him that well , last Christmas was only the 2nd time I remember meeting him. Mike randomly called and said he was coming down to Riverside for christmas last year. It was Kinda odd since we had never spent a Christmas with him before but we were glad to see him. While he was here my parents brought him to the Christmas eve service at church and he gave his heart to Jesus. Although he didn't walk forward, he told us he had said the prayer in his heart and that he meant it. And Jesus heard him. A couple days later after Christmas he flew back home had some problems and was hospitalized and put in a induced coma. A couple weeks after that he died while in coma. Mike didn't live his whole life for Jesus, but we have a gracious God who loved Mike so much that he gave him another chance at eternal life. And Mike accepted it!! :) My family and I didn't get to spend much time with him here on earth. But we have an eternity to spend with him worshiping Jesus in heaven!

My sister in law's grandfather passed away in Oct and then they said that he gave his heart to Jesus at the same time your uncle did. The family did not talk much about his legacy but rather than giving your heart to Jesus at any point...an amazing testimony of God's grace. Happy Homecoming Mike!

Praise Him Honey! God is good to us and demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). It was a blessing to see God give Mike another chance just like the thief on the cross. We seem to get so caught up in our lives sometimes and ministering to those like us that we forget that those that are well are not in need of a physician but those that are sick, Jesus did not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners (Luke 5:31-32). I thank the Lord that He has given you a heart of compassion to not look down on those that have lived lives of sin but encourage them toward walking with Christ! You are truly a daughter of the King.

Although this has been posted for awhile, I just read it. It was amazing that evening last Christmas Eve. God not only spoke to Mike's heart, but he allowed us to know that he would be with Him in Heaven. We had no idea that in only a matter of weeks he would be going home. If he never would have come to visit last Christmas, we would have always wondered if he was eternal lost. Thank you Kimberly for posting this wonderful testimony of God's saving grace and giving me the rememberance of Mike giving his life over to Jesus
Love you,
Mom
